For those of you arriving to Vienna before the scheduled arrival day, you will need to arrange your own accommodations and we’ll meet you at the airport beginning at 8:00 am until around 12:30 pm on arrival day. There should already be FUS Staff (Mr. Wolter, Franciscan TOR Sisters, and RAs) present, so look for them. They’ll arrive at the airport right around 8:00 am on the morning of arrival day. They’ll be in the arrivals hallway (once you walk through customs and baggage claim) near the McDonald’s.
TRAVEL TIP FOR EARLY ARRIVALS: Don’t want to lug your bags around with you all day? There are two “Baggage Service Centers” in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 of the Vienna Airport. They are open from 05:30 to 23:00. You can leave your bags here for only 5 euro per piece of luggage (10 euro for oversized items). If you do decide to leave your big bags there, it’s a good idea to already have packed a small bag of clothes and toiletries into your big bag, so that you can easily extract it from your luggage when you’re leaving the airport. That, my friends, is TRAVELING SMART.
